Abhishek Dutta

Managing Partner

Abhishek Dutta is the Managing Partner and co-founder of Aureus Law Partners. With over two decades of experience, he advises domestic and international clients on corporate and commercial transactions, taxation, insolvency and bankruptcy, regulatory matters, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic business structuring. His practice is distinguished by a commercially focused approach that combines legal, regulatory and tax considerations to deliver practical solutions for complex business challenges.

Abhishek is a qualified Insolvency Professional enrolled with the ICSI Institute of Insolvency Professionals and registered with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India. He is also empanelled with the National Company Law Tribunal, New Delhi, to act as an Insolvency Professional under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.

Prior to co-founding Aureus Law Partners in 2013, Abhishek was associated with Ernst & Young, was a member of the founding team at BMR Advisors, and later established the tax practice at HSA Advocates. Drawing upon this multidisciplinary experience, he regularly advises businesses, investors, promoters and financial institutions on complex transactions, regulatory strategy and corporate restructuring.

Under his leadership, Aureus Law Partners has evolved into a respected full-service law firm recognised for providing commercially driven legal solutions across diverse practice areas. The Firm was nominated for the IDEX Start-Up Law Firm of the Year Award, reflecting its commitment to excellence and innovation in legal services.

Outside his professional commitments, Abhishek is an avid tennis enthusiast. He believes that the discipline, focus and resilience demanded by the sport closely mirror the qualities required to successfully navigate complex legal and commercial matters.

Yatin Sharma

Senior Partner

Yatin Sharma is a Senior Partner at Aureus Law Partners with over 25 years of experience in taxation, corporate and commercial laws, regulatory advisory, insolvency and cross-border transactions. A qualified Chartered Accountant, Cost and Management Accountant, Advocate and Insolvency Professional, Yatin brings a multidisciplinary perspective to complex legal and business matters, enabling clients to navigate regulatory and commercial challenges with confidence.

Yatin regularly advises domestic and international clients on inbound and outbound investments, business structuring, market entry strategies, foreign investment, corporate restructuring, tax planning, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance and cross-border transactions. His practice combines legal, tax and commercial expertise to deliver practical, business-oriented solutions tailored to his clients’ strategic objectives.

Prior to joining Aureus Law Partners, Yatin was associated with leading professional services firms and multinational corporations, including KPMG, Schlumberger, BMR Advisors and Ernst & Young. During his tenure with Schlumberger, he served as Tax Manager in both India and Kazakhstan, gaining significant experience in international taxation, regulatory compliance and cross-border business operations.

Yatin has extensive experience representing clients before tax authorities, appellate forums and regulatory bodies in matters involving direct and indirect taxation, exchange control regulations and corporate compliance. His ability to integrate legal, tax and commercial considerations enables clients to structure transactions efficiently while effectively managing regulatory and tax risks.

Outside his professional commitments, Yatin enjoys keeping abreast of developments in taxation, corporate governance and insolvency law, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and delivering commercially relevant legal solutions.

Satyender Chahar

Partner

Satyender Chahar is a Partner at Aureus Law Partners with over 13 years of experience in litigation and dispute resolution. His practice encompasses a broad spectrum of civil, commercial, criminal and contractual disputes, with particular expertise in family and matrimonial law, succession and inheritance matters, intellectual property, banking, consumer protection and arbitration.

Satyender regularly advises and represents clients in complex matrimonial and family disputes, including divorce, maintenance, child custody, guardianship, domestic violence proceedings and family settlements. He also has extensive experience in succession and inheritance disputes, probate proceedings and matters involving partition and devolution of property.

In addition to his family law practice, Satyender has significant experience in commercial litigation, contractual disputes, intellectual property enforcement, banking and recovery proceedings, consumer disputes and arbitration. He regularly appears before the High Court, District Courts and various judicial and quasi-judicial forums, advising clients through every stage of litigation, from strategy and pleadings to trial and appellate proceedings.

Known for his practical and client-focused approach, Satyender works closely with individuals, families and businesses to develop effective legal strategies and achieve commercially and legally sound outcomes.

Sangeeta Gulati

Of Counsel

Sangeeta Gulati is an Of Counsel at Aureus Law Partners. A qualified Chartered Accountant and Advocate, she brings over two decades of professional experience spanning finance, corporate leadership and legal practice. Her multidisciplinary background enables her to provide clients with practical legal solutions that are informed by a strong understanding of commercial and financial issues.

Prior to transitioning into legal practice, Sangeeta held several senior leadership positions, including serving as Chief Financial Officer of reputed companies in the financial services sector. Her extensive experience in corporate finance, governance and regulatory compliance provides her with valuable commercial insight, particularly in matters involving financial and business disputes.

Her practice focuses on civil and commercial litigation before the High Court of Delhi, District Courts and other judicial forums. She regularly advises and represents clients in a broad range of matters, including commercial disputes, property disputes, debt recovery, matrimonial and family law matters, labour and employment disputes, and contractual litigation.

Leveraging her expertise as a Chartered Accountant, Sangeeta also advises clients on direct and indirect tax matters and regularly assists in appeals, writ petitions and other proceedings relating to Goods and Services Tax and Income Tax. Her ability to integrate legal, financial and regulatory considerations enables her to develop practical and commercially sound solutions for complex disputes.

Known for her analytical approach and attention to detail, Sangeeta works closely with clients to provide strategic legal advice and effective representation across a wide range of contentious matters.

Siddharth Vardhman

Head – Intellectual Property

Siddharth Vardhman heads the Intellectual Property Practice at Aureus Law Partners. He advises startups, emerging businesses, established corporations and multinational enterprises on the protection, management, commercialisation and enforcement of intellectual property rights. His practice spans both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters, with a focus on developing comprehensive legal strategies that safeguard and maximise the value of intellectual assets.

Siddharth holds a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from O.P. Jindal Global University and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, New York, internationally recognised for its excellence in intellectual property and technology law. His academic background enables him to approach intellectual property issues from both Indian and comparative legal perspectives.

Prior to joining Aureus Law Partners, Siddharth gained extensive experience at a leading intellectual property and technology law firm, where he advised clients across a diverse range of industries on trademark, copyright, design and domain name matters. His practice encompasses trademark prosecution, portfolio management, brand clearance, opposition and rectification proceedings, copyright and design registration, intellectual property licensing, technology transfer, brand protection and enforcement before the Trade Marks Registry, Commercial Courts and High Courts.

Siddharth regularly represents clients in intellectual property disputes involving trademark infringement, passing off, copyright infringement, design infringement, domain name disputes and related enforcement proceedings. He also advises on anti-counterfeiting measures, online brand protection and intellectual property due diligence for commercial transactions, helping clients protect and leverage their intellectual property assets in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

As the head of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice, Siddharth is focused on building a full-service IP practice that combines strategic advisory, portfolio management and effective dispute resolution. He is known for delivering practical, commercially focused legal solutions that align intellectual property strategy with clients’ broader business objectives.

Amaya M. Nair

Associate

Amaya M. Nair is an Associate at Aureus Law Partners with over four years of experience in civil, commercial and regulatory litigation. He regularly advises and represents clients before the High Court of Delhi, District Courts and various judicial and quasi-judicial forums in a broad range of contentious matters.

His practice encompasses civil and commercial disputes, including contractual disputes, property litigation, debt recovery proceedings and regulatory matters. Amaya has significant experience in drafting and advising on writ petitions before the High Court of Delhi, particularly in matters relating to Goods and Services Tax and Income Tax, and regularly assists clients in navigating complex tax litigation.

In addition to his litigation practice, Amaya advises clients on intellectual property matters, including brand protection, enforcement and related advisory work. He also has considerable experience in Legal Metrology compliance, assisting leading domestic and international brands with regulatory audits, packaging and labelling compliance, responses to regulatory notices and representation before Legal Metrology authorities.

Known for his analytical approach and attention to detail, Amaya works closely with clients to develop practical legal strategies and deliver commercially effective solutions across litigation, regulatory compliance and intellectual property matters.

Nishant Kantawala

Associate

Nishant Kantawala is an Associate at Aureus Law Partners. He graduated from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, and the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, with experience in transactional advisory, commercial litigation and regulatory compliance.

Nishant regularly advises clients on the drafting, review and negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements, including service agreements, work orders, vendor contracts and other commercial documentation. He has advised clients across diverse sectors, including infrastructure, real estate and manufacturing, with a focus on structuring commercially effective and legally robust contractual arrangements.

In addition to his transactional practice, Nishant has experience in corporate litigation, commercial disputes, arbitration and proceedings under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. He has also assisted in drafting writ petitions before the High Court of Delhi in matters relating to Goods and Services Tax and Income Tax, and regularly advises clients on regulatory and commercial issues arising from business operations.

Nishant also advises companies on corporate governance, statutory compliances and secretarial matters, including board and shareholder meetings, regulatory filings and compliance under the Companies Act, 2013. He has assisted businesses in raising investments and structuring transactions in accordance with applicable corporate laws, providing end-to-end legal support throughout the investment process.

Before his legal career, Nishant represented Delhi at the national level in cricket. He believes that the discipline, teamwork and resilience developed through competitive sport continue to shape his approach to legal practice, enabling him to deliver focused and strategic solutions for his clients.
